Order terms
These terms explain the basis on which Anila’s Bespoke Cakes accepts bespoke cake orders. Our complete trader identity and correspondence address will be included with your quotation before an order is accepted.
Enquiries, quotations and bookings
Submitting an enquiry does not reserve a date or create a contract. We will confirm availability and provide a written quotation setting out the agreed cake, price, payment arrangements and collection or delivery details. A booking becomes confirmed only when we expressly accept it after you agree the quotation and these terms and complete any payment step stated in the quotation.
Prices and payment
Website prices are guidance only. The final quotation depends on size, portions, design, handmade decorations, toppers, personalisation and delivery. The quotation will state the total price, including applicable taxes and any compulsory delivery charge, how and when payment must be made, and how long the quotation remains valid. Bank transfer is our preferred method, however most payment types are accepted.
Designs and handmade variations
Images of previous work are examples and do not promise an exact copy. Colour, placement and handmade details may vary slightly while remaining consistent with the agreed design. We will not make a material change without discussing it with you where reasonably possible. The customer is responsible for checking all names, ages, dates and wording in the agreed specification.
Changes by the customer
Requested changes are subject to availability and may change the price or completion date. We will confirm any revised specification and charge before proceeding. Late changes may not be possible once ingredients, toppers or production have been committed.
Cancellation and postponement
Because cakes are perishable and are normally made to the customer’s specification or clearly personalised, the usual statutory right to cancel a distance purchase simply because you change your mind will generally not apply. This does not affect your rights where goods are faulty, unsafe or not as described.
If you need to cancel or postpone, contact us promptly. Any amount retained or additional cancellation charge will be limited to a fair reflection of losses that we cannot reasonably recover, such as work already completed, specially purchased materials or lost booking capacity. The precise position depends on when you cancel and will be explained when the order is accepted.
Allergens and dietary requirements
You must tell us about allergies and dietary requirements before the order is accepted and check the written allergen information supplied for your particular cake. Our kitchen handles allergens and we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment. Please read our allergen information.
Collection, delivery and storage
The quotation will state the agreed collection or delivery arrangements. Responsibility passes to the customer on collection or, where we deliver, when the cake is delivered to the agreed location. The customer must follow any storage, handling and display instructions and provide a stable, level and suitable environment. We are not responsible for deterioration or damage caused after handover by incorrect transport, storage, handling, weather or display conditions.
Problems with an order
Please inspect the cake at handover where practical and tell us promptly about any concern. For food-safety concerns, stop serving the cake and contact us immediately. Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Events outside reasonable control
If circumstances beyond our reasonable control prevent or delay fulfilment, we will contact you as soon as possible and seek a fair solution. This term does not remove rights that the law gives you.
